do people in canada call canadian bacon "bacon" and our bacon "american bacon"?

this is a legitimate question. if you know the answer, i want to know too.
in england they call our muffins "american muffins" and they call what we call english muffins "muffins". in france they call what we call french toast "pain perdu" it means "bread lost"
